I need help losing weight

For many of us, losing weight is an important health and fitness goal. Whether you need to lose weight to address a serious health issue or simply want to improve your overall health, Microsoft offers several benefits and tools to support your journey.

Microsoft provides a variety of weight loss programs and resources to help you achieve your goals. All our medical plans offer employees and eligible dependents:

 

  • Coverage for nutritional therapy visits with a dietitian, nutritional therapist, or certified lactation consultant to manage a covered condition, illness, or injury. Review the Summary Plan Description for details.

  • Microsoft medical plans offer Weight Management programs that provide comprehensive, clinically based, multi‑pronged support to help you make lasting lifestyle changes. You’ll get personalized guidance, including health coaching, motivational support, and behavior‑based strategies.

 

Microsoft employees and their eligible dependents are also eligible for health and wellenss coaching through Microsoft CARES Wellbeing Coaching and at the Living Well Health Center. 

 

  • Thrive Global, our new global wellbeing app helps you make small, science-backed changes - called Microsteps - that add up over time. 
    • Use the Thrive Global app to focus on daily behaviors - food, movement, sleep, finance, stress management, and connection - to adopt healthy habits. 
    • Use the app to sign up to connect with a coach for one-on-one health and wellness coaching. There are up to 12 wellbeing coaching sessions available to each fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).  
  • The Living Well Health Center offers Medical Nutrition Therapy providing one-on-one support with a registered dietitian for managing chronic conidtions such as Hypertension, Diabetes, and Obesity and is located on the Redmond campus. A referral is needed from your doctor before scheduling. The dietitian will assess your personal needs and create a nturition plan you can stick with. This service is limited to 12 visits per calendar year. 
  • Utilize the Perks+ benefit to get reimbursed for personal trainers, gym memberships, and weight loss program fees.

Microsoft CARES: Utilize counseling/coaching and other programs to support your mental and emotional health as part of your overall wellbeing.

 

Health Savings Account (HSA): Use your HSA to pay for eligible expenses in a tax-efficient manner. 

Flexible Spending Account (FSA): Use your FSA to pay for eligible expenses using pre-tax dollars that have been set aside for health-related expenses.
