The Perks+ program offers broad categories of reimbursable items and services that are intended to be relevant, inclusive, and cover a broad range of life/career stages to support your physical, mental, emotional and financial wellbeing.
Full-time and part-time corporate employees, full-time retail employees, interns and visiting researchers are eligible for Perks+. Corporate employees and interns in the state of WA may select the ProClub option instead when enrolling in benefits. See the Enrollment and Eligibility page for full details on eligibility requirements.
As a new hire:
If you join the company on or before June 30, you are eligible for the full amount.
If you join the company between July 1 and September 30, you are eligible for 50%.
If you join the company on or after October 1, you are eligible for 25%.
For corporate employees, the annual benefit amount for Perks+ purchases is $1500.
For full-time retail employees, the annual benefit amount for Perks+ purchases is $500.
For full-time interns and visiting researchers, the annual benefit amount for Perks+ purchases is $400.
The items and services that you purchase under Perks+ can only be used for you as the employee and not for your family members, except where noted otherwise (such as Caregiving for loved ones and Pet care).
Important Note: You cannot be reimbursed by Perks+ for any services or items that have been prescribed for a medical reason, as that would be considered excluded medical care. Additionally, any qualified medical expenses that are covered or reimbursable under your health plan, health or dental/vision FSA, or HSA are not eligible for Perks+ reimbursement. For examples of qualified medical expenses that may be reimbursable under your health or dental/vision FSA or HSA, visit the Flexible Spending Accounts page.
Perks+ payments, excluding those reimbursements for employee student loan repayments, are subject to supplemental tax rates, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This means that you will see the value of Perks+ added to your paycheck as taxable earnings and will pay taxes on that amount at the applicable supplemental tax rates. Perks+ reimbursements for employee student loan repayments are federal tax free.
Your Perks+ benefit plan year runs from January 1 through December 31. Only purchases made during the plan year are eligible for reimbursement. Purchases made prior to the start of a plan year are not eligible.
Your deadline to submit for reimbursement for the plan year is January 31 by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time of the following calendar year (i.e., you have until Jan 31, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time of 2026 to submit items you purchased in 2025).
Receipts are required. If you purchased through an online retailer, local store, friend or private third party, and you don't have a receipt, you may complete a Receipt Validation Form to submit your reimbursement request.
Submit Perks+ reimbursement requests through the Perks+ site at Forma.

NOTE: Shipping charges, sales taxes, and import fees clearly associated with the eligible item can be reimbursed. If multiple items share one receipt, the shipping fees, taxes, and import fees will be prorated based on the value of the approved items for reimbursement.
Eligible employees may submit or check a claim with Forma. Note: Do not use your Microsoft Corporate Amex (American Express) card for your Perks+ purchases.
Approved reimbursement payments are made directly to you via your payroll check (it can take up to two pay periods for your reimbursement funds to appear in your paycheck depending on the date you submit a request and the date it's approved).
Items purchased that exceed the benefit amount or remaining balance are eligible. You will only be reimbursed up to your remaining balance.
One-time single item purchases may not be spread across two Perks+ benefit years as the purchase date determines which plan year balance you will be reimbursed from.
Expenses for dependents are not eligible unless it's a service listed under caring for loved ones.
Bundled fees that include the cost of food/supplements for weight-loss programs will not be covered. Weight management providers will need to break out the cost of the program fees only so you can submit for reimbursement.
If your spouse/partner is also a Microsoft employee with the Perks+ benefit, you may combine your Perks+ benefit amounts for large purchases. You will each need to submit for the portion of the purchase for reimbursement against each individual account.
If your Perks+ claim has been approved and you return an item for which you have already received reimbursement through the Perks+ program in the current program year, you must notify Forma as soon as possible.
Failure to notify Forma and/or failure to attempt to repay any reimbursement received for a returned item is a violation of the Microsoft General Company Guidelines and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Microsoft reserves the right to seek reimbursement from you should you fail to notify Forma of returned items for which you have been reimbursed or should you fail to work with Forma to return such money after notification of a return.
