Understand what’s in your health benefits​​​

Your Microsoft medical plan covers more than maternity costs. Review your  Summary Plan Description  to learn about additional support such as maternity and childbirth classes, lactation consultation, dietician sessions, home health visits, and wellness coaching. And don’t forget that you can use your  FSA  or  HSA  for reimbursement of  qualified medical expenses.

Activate your Maven account

Maven  provides free virtual care, content, and community throughout your family building journey.  You can video chat and message with doctors, specialists, and coaches at a time that works best for you and in your preferred language.

Get community support

Microsoft offers multiple ways to get help with your leave and new family member.

  • Enroll in  Maven  to receive 24-hour access to over 30 specialists and other support.

  • Contact your  health plan  about online or in-person maternity, childbirth, and infant education classes.

Arrange for childcare

Microsoft offers a number of resources to help you with childcare. Here are some actions you can take:

  • Reach out to the  Family Concierge  program to get personalized help arranging for childcare.

  • Learn about the  Dependent Care FSA, which allows you to reduce your tax bill by letting you set aside pre-tax collars to pay for eligible dependent care expenses.

  • Check out  Childcare Assistance  to see how Microsoft and Bright Horizons can connect you to the right care center.

  • Bookmark  Backup Care  for those days when your standard caregiver isn’t available.

Update your benefits and beneficiary information

You have 90 days to enroll your new child and/or make limited changes to your benefits. While you’re there, you can also update your life insurance beneficiaries. To update your beneficiaries for your retirement plan and Health Savings Account, go to  Fidelity NetBenefits.

Access lactation support resources

You can access dedicated lactation/mother’s rooms on campus, which are outfitted with hospital-grade pumps. If you prefer, you can request a lock for your door to pump in the privacy of your office.

Use  Maven Milk  to ship your milk while traveling on business and reimbursed.

  1. Receive over-the-counter breast pumps from an in-network provider paid at 100% or rent a hospital-grade breast pump
  2. If you’re experiencing struggles with breastfeeding, you can meet with a lactation consultant for assistance.
