Interning at Microsoft

Congratulations on your internship with Microsoft! Your time with Microsoft is not only going to provide you with incredible learning experiences in your chosen field and leadership, you’re also eligible for fantastic benefits through Microsoft. Use this information to make your selections

We provide industry-leading medical insurance coverage to ensure that you and your family have the support you need to get and stay well. All our plans offer comprehensive medical insurance coverage that pays 100% of your preventive care, and, where possible, limit the amount of health care costs you pay each year.

Use the Summary Plan Description to learn more about all of our available health plans.

Note: Dental and vision plans are not included in available health plans.

Eligible interns, visiting researchers, and their eligible dependents can enroll in this benefit as a new hire or during the annual Open Enrollment period in November. If you enroll or make changes to your benefits during Open Enrollment, your elections will be effective on the following January 1.

Important: All interns and visiting researchers will need to access the Benefits Enrollment Tool and either enroll in, or decline, health coverage. If you do not take any action, you will automatically be enrolled in the Surest Plan, through United Healthcare (the default plan does not include coverage for dependents).

Some benefits begin on your eligibility date while others begin on the date you enroll. See the Summary Plan Description for detailed information on the date each benefit begins.

The benefits you select will remain in effect through the calendar year unless you experience a qualified status change

Important note: If both you and your spouse/domestic partner work at Microsoft, be sure to review the details on the Enrollment and eligibility page to understand how that works.

If you have any questions, reach out to the Contacts associated with the plan.
